France Basilique Saint-Nazaire-et-Saint-Celse de Carcassonne
The Basilica of Saints Nazarius and Celsus, at the heart of Carcassonne’s citadel, was begun in the 11th century under the Trencavel viscounts and expanded in the 13th–14th centuries in the Gothic style. Its soaring stone vaults and stained glass windows remain among the finest expressions of medieval faith in southern France.
