France Uchon, L'oratoire de Belle-Croix

The oratory is curiously cantilevered on corbels, giving it this unique silhouette and creating the impression that the building is precariously balanced on its rock, much like the nearby “Pierre qui croule” (the “Crumbling Rock”). Similarly, the oratory’s slender spire, topped by a metal cross, lends a beautiful sense of movement to the whole structure.
