France Buron La Montagnette
A buron is a stone building, roofed with slate or stone tiles, found in the “mountains”—high-altitude pastures owned and used seasonally by valley farmers in the Cantal, Aubrac, Cézallier, Margeride, and Mont Dore mountain ranges. Many have been converted into restaurants today and welcome hikers and tourists, but others are still inhabited.

Photography Tips
Bring a wide angle lens to capture the whole farmhouse. Lower yourself to add more depth of field with the grass in the foreground.
Travel Information
Follow the parking spot GPS. You don't need a 4x4 to drive around the Aubrac region, most of the roads are paved and well-maintained. In winter you need snow tires, it's mandatory. Once parked, you need to follow a light track through the grass. It's a 10min walk maximum to reach the buron.
