France La Rochelle - Phare du Bout du Monde
The Bout du Monde lighthouse in La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime, is a lighthouse situated off the coast of Cap de la Pointe des Minimes, at the entrance to the shipping channel leading to La Rochelle marina.
It is a site of literary significance from Jules Verne’s 1905 novel *The Lighthouse at the End of the World*, inspired by his 1884 replica of the lighthouse at the end of the world in Argentine Patagonia, on Isla de los Estados, situated east of the Mitre Peninsula in Tierra del Fuego, in the region of Cape Horn and the Roaring Fifties.
