France Torre del Far

The Tour del Far, or Torre del Far, is a medieval watchtower located in Tautavel, on a hill overlooking the Roussillon plain. In the Middle Ages, it was used to monitor the Roussillon and the Verdouble Valley and to communicate with other signal towers in the region.

Bring a lot of water and your medium + telephoto lens. You get a 360° view at the top

To get from Perpignan to La Torre del Far, drive north on the D117 towards Estagel and Tautavel. Once you arrive in Tautavel, park near the village center and follow the marked hiking trail leading to La Torre del Far. The walk takes about 1.5 hours uphill (3h total).
Avoid summer because it gets extremely hot and there is no shade.
