France Pink Flamingos

The Camargue is one of the most iconic places in Europe to observe pink flamingos in their natural habitat. This spot offers an incredible perspective over the salt marshes and lagoons where hundreds of these birds feed and nest, especially during the spring and summer months. It is a truly unique and must-visit scenery for nature photography enthusiasts.

It is highly recommended to use a telephoto lens (at least 200mm or longer) to get close to the birds without disturbing them. Furthermore, late afternoon (Golden Hour) provides a soft, warm light that enhances the pink tones of the flamingos and creates fantastic reflections on the water. To ensure a successful shot, move slowly and stay quiet so as not to startle the flock

Access is by car from Arles or Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, following the signs to the Pont de Gau Ornithological Park (or surrounding roads).
Free parking is available right at the entrance of the main reserves and walking trails in the area.
The paths are mostly flat and easy to navigate on foot.
