France Mont Aigoual observatory viewpoint
Mont Aigoual is a mountain in the Cévenne (in southern France). At the top, there is an old weather observatory with amazing views over the mountains and valleys. On a clear day, you can see very far across the Cévennes.
Photography Tips
Bring a telephoto lens to capture the mountain layers in the distance. Come early for sunrise as it's usually more foggy in the morning and you'll get great light (and less people).
Travel Information
Drive towards the top of Mont Aigoual from Lanuéjols or Valleraugue. A road goes almost all the way to the summit, where there is parking. It's a mountain road with a lots of turns and slightly steep. You can park at the GPS pin, the parking is free. From there, you can easily walk to the observatory and viewpoint.
