Fort Louvois (also known as Fort du Chapus) is a 17th-century maritime fortification situated on the Chapus rock in the commune of Bourcefranc-le-Chapus, Charente-Maritime. Built according to Vauban's plans under the orders of the Minister of War, Louvois, its original purpose was to cross fire with the citadel of Château-d'Oléron to protect the Rochefort naval arsenal. Nicknamed the "little brother of Fort Boyard," it now offers an unmissable, immersive, and family-friendly historical visit.
