France Orgues sauvages d'Ille-sur-Têt
The Orgues d'Ille-sur-Têt is a very special natural place in the south of France. There are tall rock formations with strange shapes, made by erosion. The landscape looks a little like Cappadoccia in Turkey.
Photography Tips
The best light is in the morning or late afternoon, when the rocks have more shadows and colours. Bring a telephoto lens to frame the lonely tree with the Canigou mountain in the background. If you want snow on the mountain + golden light, aim for sunrise in spring (end of April/May).
Travel Information
From Perpignan, take the N116 towards Ille-sur-Têt. Follow the signs for Orgues d’Ille-sur-Têt and continue to the parking pinned. From the parking, be careful and walk on the side of the road to the exact coordinates I pinned.
