France Canigou viewpoint

The spot is a viewpoint near Castelnou, in the Pyrénées-Orientales. It is on the Roc de Majorque, at about 440m high. From here, you can see the Roussillon plain, the Pyrenees, the Canigou mountain and the villages around Castelnou. You need to hike the trail to reach the viewpoint.

Photography Tips

Go for blue hour and then golden hour, the light is fantastic and there are many different possibilities thanks to the 360° view !

In spring and winter you will still get snow on the mountain (hopefully), whereas in summer there should be none.

Travel Information

The closest city is Perpignan. From Perpignan, take the road towards Thuir, then follow the signs to Castelnou. You can park at the GPS pin to park in Coll de la Creu then you need to hike to the viewpoint. It takes around 20min to get to the pin.
