France Roc des loups
Roc des Loups is a really beautiful viewpoint on the Aubrac plateau. The rocks form a kind of land art, but permanent.
Photography Tips
Check local drone regulations first. You might need to obtain a permit from the local authorities. I would suggest going for sunrise or sunset, both are equally good.
Travel Information
From Mende, take the N88 towards Aumont-Aubrac, then continue on the D987 towards Nasbinals and follow the local roads towards Finiéyrols. The Roc des Loups is only accessible on foot, on the Saint-Jacques de Compostelle trail between Finiéyrols and Rieutort-d’Aubrac. There is no parking directly at the site, so leave the car at the GPS pin I suggested as it's the closest and the best. Once parked, it takes around 20min to get up there.
If you're going in winter, you'll have to mark the path by walking in snow. It can be difficult as this area welcomes a lot of snow in winter, but it's a fantastic place. Bring headlamp as you might come back in the dark.
