Georgia Batumi Piazza Square, Georgia
Batumi Piazza is one of the most distinctive landmarks in the city’s Old Town. From above, its Italian-inspired architecture, colorful rooftops, and striking clock tower stand out beautifully from the surrounding urban landscape. The aerial perspective also reveals nearby churches and the mountains of Adjara in the distance, creating several layers within a single composition.
Photography Tips
Golden hour is particularly beautiful here, as the low sunlight catches the clock tower and surrounding rooftops while parts of the Old Town already fall into shadow. Position the drone so the tower becomes the main focal point and use nearby churches, rooftops, and distant mountains to create depth. A vertical composition works especially well, and slight underexposure can help preserve the dramatic sky and bright golden highlights. Always bring a polarizing filter to preserve the colors on the buildings!
Travel Information
Batumi Piazza is located in the heart of the Old Town and is easily reached on foot from Europe Square and the waterfront. The square is free to visit and surrounded by cafés and restaurants, making it lively throughout the day and evening. For aerial photography, find a suitable take-off point away from the busy square itself and always check current Georgian drone regulations and local airspace restrictions before flying. Parking can be very tricky within the old town. There are better options along the waterfront.
