Georgia Mirveti Bridge, Georgia
Mirveti Bridge is a narrow single-lane suspension bridge crossing the calm waters of the Acharistsqali River near Mirveti. Surrounded by densely forested mountains, the bridge feels like a gateway into rural Adjara. On misty days, low clouds drifting between the mountains and across the water can transform this simple piece of infrastructure into an incredibly atmospheric photo location.
Photography Tips
The bridge is best photographed from the air, where its long, narrow structure creates a strong horizontal line across the turquoise water. Wait for a single vehicle to cross to add scale and a clear focal point. Flying slightly higher also lets you include the surrounding mountains, while mist and low clouds add depth between the layers. Calm conditions are especially beautiful when reflections become visible on the water. The bridge is really narrow, and our pickup almost didn't fit!
Travel Information
Mirveti Bridge is located near the village of Mirveti in Adjara and pairs well with a visit to Mirveti Waterfall and the surrounding countryside. The bridge is very narrow and only accommodates traffic in one direction at a time, so drive slowly and be prepared to wait for oncoming vehicles. If photographing with a drone, find a safe take-off location away from the road and check current Georgian aviation rules before flying. It can be tricky to see uncoming traffic if you come from the side off the main road, so be prepared to backup in case a car is already crossing.
