Turning from Checkpoint Charlie at Zimmerstrasse, you will see a colorful building complex after just a few meters. The complex was designed by the Italian star architect Aldo Rossi and built after the fall of the wall from 1994 to 1998. If you walk through one of the three open arched entrances, as found at Charlottenstraße 16, you get into one of the four inner courtyards of the district. What initially looks like a normal back yard with bicycle parking spaces turns out to be an interesting photo spot from a different perspective. If you walk one entrance further towards Schützenstraße, you will reach another inner courtyard. Here the houses shine with red facades and the visitors are surrounded by a hexagon.
