Germany Göltzsch Viaduct (Saxony, Germany)
The Göltzsch Viaduct (German: Göltzschtalbrücke) is the largest railway bridge in the world built using red bricks. Construction finished in 1851 and the bridge is still in use. Photography Tips
Unfortunately, vegetation and power lines obstruct the view from the valley ground, where a wide angle zoom appears appropriate. Signposted hikes into the environs onto higher ground offer scenic vistas of the entire bridge and a telephoto lens is recommended in this context. About once in 15 minutes a train crosses the viaduct.
Travel Information
There is plenty of parking space close to the bridge, and I noticed a steady stream of visitors on a sunny workday in September 2020. The place may be crowded on weekends.
