The 'Simssee' is the largest lake in the Rosenheim district and while it might be less known to people than lake 'Chiemsee' it's beauty can easily keep up with it's bigger brother. The viewing platform which is a little tower is located at the northern shore of Simssee and rewards you with incredible views over the lake, it's wildlife and parts of the alps. It's also a great spot for sunset lovers.

Photography Tips

Tripod, ND and/or CPL filters and different kinds of lenses are always good carry with you.
It's also a good spot for drone pictures but keep in mind that it's a nature reserve.

Travel Information

The lake is around 7km east from the city Rosenheim. Free parking is available at the marker.
There are several nice spots to photograph in this area.
