Germany On the Obertrave, Lübeck
This is one of the most beautiful views of the city of Lübeck, with the Trave River in the foreground and Lübeck Cathedral as a beautiful element in the view of the cityscape. Lübeck is worth to travel anyway. Especially this little street with all the historic houses. The old town of Lübeck is very unique with many backyards to see.
Photography Tips
At this spot, it's recommended to take a strong ND Filter (1000) to have a long exposure shot on a tripod. Then you get a perfect reflection of the buildings on the water. If there is ice on the river during winter, it's often not necessary.
Travel Information
Near the "Lübecker Tor" is a parking garage. Leave your car there and take a walk along the Trave River. You`ll find the Spot. Or a little bit further away is the central station. It's maybe a 10-minute walk to the Lübecker Tor, and then stay on that side of the Trave River. But it is worth taking a day to see the old town anyway.
There is also park space available near the spot, marked on the map, but parking availability depends on the day and time.
Make sure to wear proper shoes because you have to climb down a little hill through bushes.
