The winding towers in the photo are part of the former Zeche Radbod colliery in Hamm, Bockum-Hövel. Built between 1907 and 1908, the twin steel and brick headframes and historic hoisting house once supported steam-powered coal extraction. After the mine closed in 1990, the towers were preserved as industrial heritage monuments and now stand within the Kulturrevier Radbod, symbolizing the region's industrial past.

Photography Tips

To capture a similar photo, shoot during the golden hour for warm light and soft shadows. Use a wide-angle lens to include both towers and the surrounding area. Frame the shot low to emphasize the height of the structures against the sky.

Travel Information

The winding towers are located in Hamm-Bockum-Hövel and can be reached by train or car from central Hamm. From the city center, it’s a short bus or taxi ride to the Kulturrevier Radbod area where the towers stand. There are some parking spaces along the roadside.
