The Wooden Bridge in Essing, also known as the Tatzlwurm Bridge, is a striking pedestrian and cyclist bridge spanning the Main-Danube Canal. Completed in 1986, it was Europe's longest wooden bridge at the time, measuring 189.91 meters. Its distinctive, wavy design earned it the nickname "Tatzlwurm," resembling a dragon's tail. The bridge offers picturesque views of the Altmühltal landscape and is a popular spot for photography enthusiasts. It's easily accessible and free to visit year-round.
