Schloss Paffendorf is a Renaissance water castle in Bergheim, Germany, built in the 16th century and expanded in the 19th century. It’s surrounded by moats and a large park with ancient trees. Today, it serves as an event and information center run by RWE Power, offering exhibitions and cultural events.

Travel Information

Schloss Paffendorf in Bergheim can be reached by car via the A61 motorway, exiting at Bergheim with parking available near the castle. By public transport, take a train to Horrem station from Cologne or Aachen, then a bus to the "Bergheim Paffendorf Kreisverkehr" stop, which is a short walk from the castle.
