Germany Mühlenteich Aumühle

  • Please log in or sign up for free to see the GPS coordinates & weather for this photo spot
The spot is located at the entrance to the "Sachsenwald", which once belonged to Prince Bismarck and parts of which are still owned by the family but are freely accessible. Large parts of it are still natural and not a cultivated forest. A hike with a visit to the Bismarck Museum is particularly worthwhile in autumn. Neighboring is the "Mühlenteich", named after the former princely mill that supplied the country estate. The forest and pond are magnificent for forest and landscape photography, both in the morning mood and in the evening.

Photography Tips

The small lake is most beautiful in autumn (mid-October) from 3 pm. Bring a polarizing filter and possibly also a GND soft filter. Tripod is advisable for exposure series, normal wide angle is sufficient. Take a hike around the lake (approx. 1,5 hrs), there are lots of small, beautiful motifs so that you can capture the evening atmosphere at the mill in a photo from 5 pm.

Travel Information

From Hamburg you can take the S-Bahn (S21, Station Aumühle, 10 minutes on foot). There are also plenty of parking spaces nearby.
