Germany Gut Melaten
The Melaten estate is a former manor house in Aachen. The estate dates back to a medieval leprosarium, which was founded on the Via Regia leading to Maastricht. Until 1550, it served as a quarantine station for lepers and outcasts. Today, an almost completely enclosed four-sided farmstead with a converted well remains, which has been in use and owned by Aachen University Hospital since around 2013
