The cranes now stand only as decorative elements on this side of the harbor.
When the cranes were still in operation, they were used to lift general cargo from the holds of ships or to hoist the fishermen's catch ashore. There was bustling activity, and the area around the harbor and the nearby Reeperbahn was teeming with sailors from all over the world.
Today, the cranes are merely relics that offer guests of the chic restaurants at the fish market a glimpse of that bygone era.

I was asked already why i has taken 24mm instead of 14mm. Than the crane would be fully seen on the picture. My answer was, that than the picture would be that wide that you have to search for the motif. everything would be to far away and boring.
