The Lübeck main station is the largest and most important passenger station in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck. The four-nave platform hall is 130 m long, 88 m wide and spans ten tracks. With around 34,000 travelers and visitors per day (as of 2019), Lübeck Central Station is the most frequent station in Schleswig-Holstein after Kiel Central Station.[ 1] The station was built in 1908 according to a design by Fritz Klingholz by the Lübeck-Büchener Eisenbahn (LBE), which at that time operated most of the railway connections around Lübeck, including the express train connections, to replace the previous, obsolete building.
