Germany Alexanderplatz World Clock. Berlin

Alexanderplatz has a distinct atmosphere reminiscent of the 1960s and the heyday of East Germany (GDR), offering an interesting opportunity to glimpse what Berlin looked like before the fall of the Wall. The World Clock is a large turret-style world clock located in the public square of Alexanderplatz in Mitte, Berlin. Since its erection by East Germany in 1969, it has been a tourist attraction and meeting place. In July 2015, the Federal Government of Germany declared the clock as a historically and culturally significant monument.

A night time long exposure with the tram passing in the background makes for the most interesting shot in my opinion. Definitely use a wide angle lens so you can capture the entire street scene. Try to time your shot with someone looking at the clock as in this image for best impact.

As a key transport hub for Berlin, you are spoiled for choices in terms of transport when traveling to Alexanderplatz, including the S-bahn, the U-bahn, the tram system and suburban trains. Many buses also stop in the immediate vicinity.
