Hohenaschau Castle is a medieval hilltop castle located above the village of Aschau im Chiemgau in Upper Bavaria, Germany. Originally built in the 12th century, it served as the seat of the Hohenaschau lordship and was later expanded into a fortified residence during the Renaissance. The castle changed ownership several times throughout its history, most notably becoming the property of the industrialist Theodor von Cramer-Klett in the 19th century, who commissioned extensive restoration and reconstruction work. Today, Hohenaschau Castle is one of the most recognizable landmarks of the Chiemgau region.
