Putlitz Castle, also known as Gänseburg, is the ruin of a medieval moated castle in the town of Putlitz, in the Prignitz district of Brandenburg.

Origin: The castle was built in the 13th century (with the keep dating partly to around 1200) as the ancestral seat of the noble Gans zu Putlitz family.

Structure: It was designed as a moated castle and supplied with water by the Stepenitz River.

Destruction: In the 17th century, the complex was largely destroyed by fire and fell into ruin.
