Germany Wasserturm am Burger Bahnhof

Located right inside the scenic Goethepark in Burg, this historic water tower is a charming industrial relic. Built between 1905 and 1906 to supply water for the steam locomotives, this three-story, perfectly round brick building beautifully complements the adjacent train station. As a proud piece of the "City of Towers," this carefully restored structure stands today as a fantastic architectural and historical subject.

Thanks to its location within the park, you have plenty of room to walk around and find the perfect composition. The tower's circular brick architecture looks excellent from almost any perspective. Use the surrounding trees, flowerbeds, and the green pathways of the park to frame the structure naturally. Try photographing it in the softer light of morning or late afternoon to bring out the warm, earthy tones and textures of the historic masonry.

This location is incredibly accessible. It is practically the first landmark you see when arriving at Burg by train. The town is excellently connected, with regular trains stopping here from major hubs like Berlin, Magdeburg, Braunschweig, Brandenburg an der Havel, and Potsdam. If you are traveling by car, there is a large parking lot located right at the station. This makes it an ideal starting point to park your vehicle easily, photograph the tower, and then set off on foot to explore the rest of the city's sights.
