Germany St. Katharina Kirche Flötz

St. Katharina is a charming, historic fieldstone church located in the small village of Flötz, which is part of Gödnitz in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district. Originally built in the 14th century as a fortified church, it stands out with its rustic stone masonry, a distinctive red roof, and a beautifully preserved half-timbered tower. The church is peacefully situated in the center of a large, open cemetery. The village itself is nestled right on the edge of the scenic Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve, just a stone's throw away from the Gödnitzer See, a picturesque oxbow lake of the Elbe river.

The expansive cemetery surrounding the church provides plenty of room to walk around and find the perfect composition without feeling restricted.
