The Turmholländerwindmühle in Schnarsleben is a beautifully preserved tower windmill located in the heart of the Magdeburger Börde, a region famous for having some of the most fertile soil in Europe. Built from robust fieldstones and still featuring its impressive wooden sails, this historic structure is a stunning example of early agricultural industry. The absolute best time to photograph this location is during sunrise or sunset. The exceptionally flat landscape of the Börde allows the low, golden sunlight to strike the rustic stone walls and the large sails directly, creating a highly atmospheric and beautifully illuminated scene.

Getting to this location is exceptionally easy due to its strategic position right near the major highway intersection of the A2 and A14. Taking the local exits will bring you to the village of Schnarsleben in just a few minutes. The windmill itself is situated slightly outside the main settlement, nestled directly between the open agricultural fields. You can easily approach the site via the local field roads. Parking is conveniently possible along the edges of these quiet rural paths, leaving you with only a very short walk to explore the area and find the perfect vantage point.
