Germany Flickschupark Burg

The Flickschupark, complete with the beautifully integrated Flickschuteich, is a historic and deeply charming landscaped park located on the edge of the city of Burg. The park owes its existence—and its unique name—to the generous legacy of Albertine Flickschu, the widow of a wealthy local cloth manufacturer. In 1898, she bequeathed a substantial sum of money to the city, which allowed for the creation of this magnificent green space for the public. Extensively revitalized and modernized for the state garden show in 2018, the park today seamlessly blends historical elements, such as its majestic old tree avenues, with beautiful modern landscaping. Situated right next to the local sports grounds, it is a vibrant yet relaxing location that beautifully captures the greener side of the "City of Towers."

The scenic lake promenade around the Flickschuteich is the absolute highlight for photography. The calm water surface of the pond acts as a fantastic natural mirror, beautifully reflecting the surrounding mature trees and the sky. Taking a walk along the historic, tree-lined avenues provides incredible leading lines that draw the viewer deep into the image, especially during the autumn months when the foliage turns vibrant shades of gold and red. Early mornings and late afternoons are particularly atmospheric here; the soft, low sunlight filters beautifully through the dense tree canopy, giving the meticulously landscaped park a highly romantic and tranquil mood.
