Germany Bahnhof Burg

The Bahnhof Burg is a striking historical railway station and the welcoming gateway to the "City of Towers." In preparation for the 2018 state garden show, the historic building and its expansive forecourt underwent a comprehensive and beautiful modernization. Situated directly across from the lush greenery of the Goethepark, this elegantly restored transit hub perfectly bridges the gap between historic industrial charm and modern urban design.

The spacious, newly designed forecourt provides plenty of room to find the perfect angle of the historic brick facade without feeling cramped. A great compositional approach is to position yourself near the edge of the adjacent Goethepark, using the park's trees or vibrant landscaping as a natural foreground to frame the classic architecture of the station building. The visual contrast between the old masonry and the clean, modern lines of the renovated plaza is highly captivating. Visiting during the blue hour shortly after sunset allows you to beautifully capture the warm glow of the station's illumination against the evening sky.
