Balos beach is a wonderful spot in the West of Crete. Usually there are only very few people there by cars or private boats. But sometimes a larger tourist boat may arrive and then you will understand why there are so many umbrellas waiting.

Travel Information

Balos beach can be reached by car, but the tour is quite challenging. It is a gravel road with partly very big rocks. Most rental car companies do exclude to drive that road with a normal rental car. 4x4 is recommended.
