Yam O is a bay located on the northeast shore of Lantau Island, it was the only natural lumber preservation zone in Hong Kong, and some natural lumber on stilts is still visible to travelers. In 2005, the MTR station near Yam O was named ‘Sunny Bay’, the naming was challenged because it has no connection to the name Yam O, and it leads to confusion among the public due to their too similar Cantonese pronunciations.
