Iceland Svartifoss
Waterfall surrounded by rare hexagonal basalt rock columns similar to the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland.
Photography Tips
There are two places where you can compose this shot from. The first is on a viewing platform to the right, and the second is on the rocks directly in front of the waterfall. The rocks are a bit trickier to climb onto, but I think the composition is better from that vantage point. Just be mindful not to get in the way of the compositions of other photographers - like all the major highlights of Iceland there will be lots of other tripods around you.
Travel Information
This waterfall is a decent hike from the nearest spot where you can park, and the hike is mostly uphill, so be prepared. From memory I think it took about 45 minutes to get there from the parking spot.
