A few hundred meters from the northern end of the Icelandic Highland Route Kaldidalur, the Geitá river has swilled a canal through mighty basalts. Additionally, it has washed blank the whole basalt field.

Travel Information

The Kaldidalur is open only in Summer and it is restricted to four weel drive vehicles. From the northern end of the route (from Húsafell) it is absolutely save for all vehicles to drive to this spot.
