A few hundred meters from the northern end of the Icelandic Highland Route Kaldidalur, the Geitá river has swilled a canal through mighty basalts. Additionally, it has washed blank the whole basalt field.

Travel Information

The Kaldidalur is open only in summer and it is restricted to all weel drive vehicles. From its northern end however, the road to this location is absolutely safe for any vehicle.
