The Godafoss is a very famous waterfall in the North of Iceland and probably one of my favorite places to visit. You can walk along on both sides of the river and check the different angles of the waterfall. A trail also leads down to the river level on the East side.

Photography Tips

I came here for sunrise to catch some golden light. The best would be the sunset as it sets from behind. I got fortunate with the rainbow tho! Come here in winter when the ice is all around. It makes it look cool and even more excellent than in summer!

Travel Information

You can park your car at the marked parking lot. The road is in excellent condition and driveable for any vehicle. There is also a restaurant and restrooms at opening hours near the East bank parking. When traveling in Iceland, it is always nice to check www.safetravel.is for travel information.
