The orange lighthouse is very famous here in the South East, but you can find just one of a dozen along route 1. Worth stopping since you can walk along the shore or visit the nearby black sand beach!

Photography Tips

A drone will get you the best angle here, with the ocean and shore in the foreground and featuring the lighthouse and the uniquely shaped mountains in the background. Be aware of strong winds here. I almost lost my drone once at this location.

Travel Information

You can park your car at the marked parking lot. The road towards the car park is a gravel road but can be accessed by most vehicles. When traveling in Iceland, it is always nice to check www.safetravel.is for travel information.
