Iceland Kalfshamarsvik Lighthouse from the Stone Beach
Kálfshamarsvík Lighthouse is a small Art Deco tower on Iceland’s north coast. It stands above a beach of stunning basalt columns and once overlooked a small fishing village. The remote location and dramatic stone formations make it a striking and peaceful photo spot.
Photography Tips
Photograph the lighthouse during golden hour for warm light on the basalt rocks. Use a wide-angle lens to capture the dramatic coastline and stone patterns. A tripod helps with long exposures to smooth the waves and highlight textures.
Travel Information
You can reach Kálfshamarsvík Lighthouse by driving about 24 km north from Skagaströnd along gravel Road 745—watch for the sign—and then following a rough 800 m track to a parking area near the shore. From there a short walk takes you across the basalt beach to the lighthouse. The gravel route is suitable for any normal car, but drive carefully over potholes and loose stones.
