Iceland Kirkjufellfoss

This spot has been photographed a million times but unfortunately when I was there (Sept. 5, 2025) the area around the falls and the bridge was surrounded by fencing and barricades were marring the view. While I’m certain this was necessary, it was really bad luck for photography. Also, the construction, effectively concentrated the hoards of gawkers (like me) into a much smaller area.

If you have a photo editor capable of removing objects, you’ll need it here for a while, or try a long exposure. I recommend checking with local authorities for progress before traveling there if you plan to photograph.

There is ample parking available but the area closest to the falls includes a fee. Additional parking is rather primitive but is free and only a minute farther away.
