Iceland Western Westfjords Mountains

Wonderful high mountains stretch along the coast of the remote Westfjords of Iceland. It's quite dramatic how these towering mountains rise straight out of the ocean.

Use the shoreline as a leading line through the frame. Personally, I would recommend to wait for the sun to set so that you have this beautiful pastel afterglow on the snow (if shooting in snowy conditions)

Getting around the Westfjords in winter and early spring can be challenging, as many mountain roads are closed or only accessible with a 4x4 vehicle equipped with winter tires. Weather conditions change quickly, so it’s essential to check updates from the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration and Icelandic Meteorological Office before traveling. Distances are long, services are sparse, and driving in daylight is recommended due to limited visibility and icy conditions.
