Thikse Monastery sits over the town of Thikse on a small hill. It is a twelve-story complex with shrines/temples on top and living quarters down the hill.

The monastery allows visitors to attend the morning call to prayer on top of the monetary and allows visitors into the main hall for the morning meal and prayers. You need a fast lens for the inside as no flash is allowed.
