Indonesia Ratu Boko palace ruins
Ratu Boko is an archaeological complex located on a plateau near Yogyakarta on the Indonesian island of Java, approximately three kilometres south of the Prambanan temple complex. Dating mainly from the 8th and 9th centuries, the site is associated with the Sailendra dynasty and the Mataram Kingdom. Unlike the predominantly religious monuments of the surrounding region, Ratu Boko contains remains of a fortified settlement or palace complex, including monumental stone gateways, defensive walls, terraces, audience halls, pools, and meditation caves.
