Ireland Dingle Lighthouse and Binn Ban Beach
South of Dingle, at the entrance to the sheltered bay of Dingle Harbour, stands this small lighthouse. We set off for it from the car park at Binn Ban Beach. The access road to the beach is closed, and after a few hundred metres along the Cliff Walk, we realise why: The sea has presumably ‘encouraged’ the cliff to collapse over a width of about ten metres. The landslide has buried the end of the beach access road, sweeping away part of the marked footpath along with a pasture fence. A diversion has been put in place for walkers, so we don’t have to turn back empty-handed.
