Inishbofin is seven miles off of Cleggan, County Galway. There are only 165 permanent residents and much of the island has not changed for over 100 years. Hike or rent a bike and you can travel the island at will.

There are many places to shoot. Bring rain gear and a tripod.

Travel Information

From Galway head north to Cleggan. The ferry makes three round trips a day for a 20 Euro fee round trip. THere are three hotels on Insihbofin along with restaurants and pubs. It is easy to get away from everyone and shoot your heart out.

Oliver Cromwell may have called himself the Lord Protector of England, Scotland and Ireland but I can tell you that my Irish relatives don't think he protected anyone but the religious bigots in his inner circle. His merry men did make it all the way to Inishbofin, seven miles off the west coast of Ireland.
