The Dead Sea is a salt lake that is about 10 times as salty as the ocean making it one of the world's saltiest bodies of water and also the lowest place on earth
The are some locations in the lake. One of them are the evaporation ponds where they evaporate the water to extract the minerals to the industry.
These unique spikes are a result of evaporation of the water and formation of salt crystals.

Salt is covered not due to season, only due to flooding of minerals mining activity of nearby plants. Winter gets nicer sunrises with clouds in the sky. In the summer much less clouds in the area.
