Orsomarso is an ancient calabrian village surrounded by a wild Mountain ridge which Highest point reach 1987m, the context is a natural reserve where many wild animals as eagles and wolves can be found, rafting is also possible down the Lao river crossing the reserve, the village hosts a lime stone pillar towering in the middle of the city with a clock tower on it .

Photography Tips

The village is surrounded by mountains on north/east/south so the morning can be shadowy. Autumn is probably the best season, winter can be snowy. It's a southern italian village, which means do not even try to communicate in english, but definitely try to interact to people to get a taste of southern hospitality. Hike up the mountains, wander trough the alleys of the village, hike up to the bell tower .

Travel Information

Definitely by car, I don't think there will be any bus carrying you around in the natural reserve beyond the small village of Orsomarso and the drive from Orsomarso to Morano Calabro (cool place) trough the Campotenese plateau is simply to sweet to be avoided .
