Matera from the Caves Italy

This is a great place for viewing the city from caves. There are about 8 or 9 caves easily accessible from here, and as the light goes and the city lights up, you'd struggle to get a better view

Travel information

The dirt track to the church is quite a challenge, particularly in a sports car. I'd recommend an SUV as there are some quite large holes, dips, and ridges. Once there, walk past the church, which is still functioning and you'll find the caves.
