Rocca Calascio is a mountaintop fortress in the Abruzzo region of Italy, built in the 10th century and later expanded in the 13th century. Perched at 1,460 meters, it offers panoramic views of the surrounding Gran Sasso mountains and Campo Imperatore plateau. Famous for its medieval architecture and strategic location, it is one of the highest fortresses in Italy and a popular site for hiking and photography.
